The USGA Handicap System, Article 3-5, directs that each affiliated golf club adjust course handicaps for any competition between members playing from different tees.
The PMGA Executive Board, therefore, implemented the following procedures effective June 01, 2017:
- Unless otherwise specified in a tournament announcement, all PMGA tournaments will be from the White tees which has a Mens course rating of 71.3.
- Other PMGA competitions (such as the Wednesday games and Saturday Gaggle) will be played from the tees of choice. Choice of tee must be indicated on the scorecard. Members will determine their Handicap for the tees played as usual. Then, they will adjust their Course Handicap before they begin play using the table below:
- Start with your handicap for tees played.
- Add or subtract strokes.
- Result is adjusted Course Handicap used for tees played.
A player with a plus Course Handicap must add strokes beginning with the 18th stroke hole.
